# Leak detection

We find private water and sewer leaks that do not show as a single dripping faucet. Wet yard, a meter that moves with everything off, or a stain with no obvious source is this work, and we locate it before we open anything.

Leak detection is locating a hidden failure on the private side: a water service under the slab or lawn, a sewer that weeps into the yard, or a wet spot that is not the fixture you can see. A meter that spins with every tap closed, a warm patch of grass in winter, or a stain that keeps coming back after the visible joint is tightened usually belongs here.

We start with what you can already see, then work toward the run. A [sewer camera inspection](/services/sewer-camera) shows the inside of a drain. A water leak is a different search: isolation, meter movement, and opening only where the evidence points. We do not sell a full [water line replacement](/services/water-line-replacements) until the line is actually done.

Village-owned mains and meter pits stay with the water department. We will say which side of the curb we think you are on.
